LAMPUGNANO NAMED PRESIDENT OF CHICAGO OFFICE TECHNOLOGY GROUP;
DIXON PROMOTED TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES
TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 1 -- Global Imaging Systems, Inc. announced today that Phil Lampugnano, 47, has succeeded the retiring Frank Gaspari as president of the Chicago Office Technology Group (COTG), a Global core company serving the greater Chicago metropolitan area from its base in Bolingbrook, IL. Terry Dixon, 42, the group’s award-winning vice president of sales for the past five years has been promoted to executive vice president of sales.
Tom Johnson, chairman and CEO of Global Imaging Systems, said, “Phil and Terry have been on career paths aimed at these promotions. Most recently, Phil has served as executive vice president and CFO of COTG and its Column Office Equipment unit. His more than 22 years of experience in office technology include 12 years as controller/chief financial officer of Column Office Equipment, which was acquired by Global in 1999. Terry recently won top honors as Global’s sales vice president of the year for the second year in a row.”
Mr. Gaspari said, “Phil is highly qualified to take on the broader responsibilities of the core company presidency. He has been a key member of the COTG management team, directing our financial functions through a period of rapid growth and increasing profitability. Terry continues to set a new standard for sales management. We are fortunate to have the experience and leadership skills of these two managers to direct the continued growth and profitability of COTG.”
Mr. Lampugnano began his business career in banking and moved into the copier industry as controller of a Chicago office equipment dealership in 1983. He joined Column Office Equipment as controller/CFO in 1994. He became a “Global Leader” in 2000 and has served as an instructor in the Global Leadership Institute’s management development program. After two years at the U.S. Air Force Academy, he earned a B.A. degree in accounting from Illinois Institute of Technology.
Mr. Dixon joined Column Office Equipment in 2000 after nine years at General Binding Corporation, where he last served as regional vice president of sales. A graduate of Michigan State University, he has also completed the Global Leadership Institute’s management development program.
Mr. Johnson said, “I want to thank Frank Gaspari for his many contributions to Global’s success. Not only did he create and develop a top-performing dealership in the highly competitive Chicago office technology market, he leaves COTG in the very capable hands of an experienced and knowledgeable management team. Year after year, Frank and his team are among the top two Global companies with the kind of consistent top-level performance that sets Global apart from the competition.”
